The Nymphos of Rocky Flats

Felix Gomex went to Iraq as a soldier, and came back as a vampire. Now he is a private detective , hired by a trusted friend to penetrate the murderous conspiracy cloaking an outbreak of nymphomania at the U.S. department of energy's Rocky Flats Nuclear weapons plant.

As he unravels the mystery surrounding one the darkest secrets of modern times,Felix realizes he must resolve issues from his human past if he is to defeat government assassins and fanatical vampire hunters from Transylvania. Sexual myths, conspiracy fables, and bureaucratic paranoia are skewered in this novel about American pop culture.

Set in present day Denver, the story deconstructs vampire lore and presents the bizarre world of the undead with a humorous slant and a fresh latino twist. This is the first (and only) vampire novel reviewed and declassified by the U.S. Department of Energy. http://marioacevedo.com/MANymph.htm

Everyone today is talking about team Jace, team Bill, team Eric, team Jem, etc.  Well let me tell you about a new hero I am introducing to you.  Even though the book was published back in 2006, I only recently discovered it by a dear friend.  Felix Gomez went to Iraq with the Third infantry division as a Sergeant only to return as a Vampire.

Dut to an unfortunate casualty of friendly fire, he crawled into the arms of a vampire that gave him the gift of immortality and eternity of grief.  Once he returned to the states, and discharged from the army he became a Private investigator. His first case is for a dear friend, so there was no question to help or not.

Now in typical vampire lore, vampires can only drink blood for nourishment and not come out in the daylight. Not in the world of Felix Gomez.  They eat everyday food like us but prefer to drench it in type o-neg blood or whatever their liking is.  It was very full filling to see a vampire with an appetite for food other than just blood.

As for sunlight, Felix applies a daily regiment of sunscreen and foundation to protect his skin and have a little bit more color than translucent.  One lore that runs into a problem with this is, you try applying foundation without a mirror reflection lol.  The first morning sun is deadly to a vampire but after it has finished rising, it is no longer dangerous for Vampires.

Say what? Vampires that eat food like you and I. Vampires that come out in the sun like you and I.  This is the world of Felix Gomez.

When called by a good friend to take the case at the Rocky Flats, he was not quite sure to take it. (please do not be discourage by the title)  An outbreak had happen at the Department of Energy's location of the Rocky Flats.  Female co-workers became nymphos over night.  Now these are every day normal Jane's but something overcomes them as if they have no control, and attack the closest male to them. This is why he is so discouraged to take the case, after all vampires still love sex, but to deal with nympho crazed women with no control, even that is a handful for a vampire.

Nymphomaniacs is not the only problem Felix has to deal with.  Vampires start to being killed here and there. They realized its crazed hunters from Transylvania, and have no problem being able to hunt down a vampire and his location, even if he moves around constantly.

The author Mario Acevedo is pure genius!  He pulls you into the book by using actual historical dates, landmarks, and places of interest.  So as you read his novel and hear names of Air Force bases or other names of relativity, it actually draws you in more, and hesitate to place the book down.

So how does Felix solve the mystery of the nympho breakout and deal with obessesed hunters at the same time? To find out pick up "The Nymphos of Rocky Flats at your closest book store or online.
